Who Are We?
We are a committee whose goal is to:
- Gather data on the departmental diversity metrics, recruitment and retention practices, and outcomes for promoting diversity, equity and civil discourse.
- Oversee the development and implementation of the EES action plan to advance the Department’s diversity, equity and inclusion.
We belong to and represent various groups within the Department and are volunteers who have been asked by the Chair of EES, or in some cases the groups we represent, to serve on this committee. Our committee shares a deep commitment to making EES a fully welcoming and supportive work and study environment for all demographics. We aim to represent, listen to, and work with all in the EES Department via individual, subcommittee and town hall-style discussions, meetings and events, in order to facilitate the deep and fundamental changes necessary to truly become a more diverse, inclusive and equitable department.
