Earth and Environmental Science Hayden Walk 2024

Friday, Sep 6th – 2-4pm – Front Lobby of Hayden Hall

The Department of Earth & Environmental Science (EES) is housed in Hayden Hall, named for Ferdinand Hayden. But who was Hayden? And what was his connection to Penn? The EES community invites you to the annual Hayden Memorial Walk on Friday, September 6th. We’ll leave the front steps of Hayden Hall promptly at 2pm, and make our way to Hayden’s grave in nearby Woodlands Cemetery.

Along the way, Prof. Alain Plante will provide information on Hayden’s biography. Upon arrival at Hayden’s grave, we will toast his accomplishments in geology and natural science.
