Joe Francisco and Reto Gieré travelled to California during Spring break to give Ben Talks at the Penn Clubs of Los Angeles (March 5, 2019) and San Francisco (March 6, 2019). The presentations were entitled “From Melting Nylon to Climate Science” and “Climate Change in the Swiss Alps: Disappearing Glaciers and Renewable Energy”, respectively. They were joined by Eric Schelter (Chemistry), who gave a talk on “Sustainability, Renewable Energy, and Rare Earth Elements”.
