In Memory of Joan Buccilli, EES Department Administrator

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Joan Alice (Martin) Buccilli of Collingswood NJ, on October 18th,2024 at the age of 64. She passed away with her devoted husband of 38 years by her side, Steve Buccilli. 

Beloved wife of 38 years to Stephen Buccilli; Dear mother of Jillian (Tim), Christa (Greg) Bryant , Alice (Jake) Grassi . Loving Grandmother of Kyle, Stephen, Nicholas, David, Timothy, Gregory, Marques, Arianna Rose, Anthony, and Baby Grassi on the way due April 2025. Also her fur babies Tucker, Fiona, and Moony (in heaven with her). Devoted daughter of late Helen (Fine) Martin, and late Thomas Martin, sister to late Janis Martin-Hughes and husband Bob Stallings. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, coworkers and friends.

Joan was a lifelong resident of Collingswood. Both Joan and Steve attended Collingswood High School together, were high school sweethearts, who happened to be married on February 14. They have been together 46 years. They loved raising their family in their home town. Joan has always been a part of the Collingswood community with Booster Clubs, Field Hockey Mom, concession stand for multiple sports for her girls. She was also crowned “Glitter Queen” by her students while being a preschool teacher for 7 years at St. Paul’s Preschool of Collingswood. She spent 23 years as the Department Administrator “Office Mommy” at the University of Pennsylvania. She will be greatly missed by her many close friends and coworkers. 

Joan’s favorite activities included a hot cup of coffee, gardening, loving on her puppies and grandchildren. Also crafting, making anything with glitter, drawing, vacationing in Florida, spending time with her loving husband, having her toes in the sand, swimming, and sitting on her front porch watching the birds in the feeder.  She will be forever loved and missed by all who knew her.
